Units: mm and inch

Set whether a drawing’s dimensions are in millimetres or inches, and convert every dimension from one to the other.

Setting the Units

  1. In the sidebar, open the Dims tab.
  2. In Units, choose mm or inch.

This only labels the drawing’s unit. The values stay as they are.

Converting Every Dimension

  1. In the Dims tab, click Convert to inch (or Convert to mm) next to Units.

Lens asks you to confirm:

  1. In Convert units, click Convert.

Every dimension on the drawing is converted.

Decimal Places After Converting

Open Settings (gear) and go to the Dimensions tab.

Which number to read from 3.00 [ 76.2 ]

Dimensions like (2.00) will be toleranced

Converted values keep the original's decimal places; whole numbers round to 4 places (30 mm → 1.1811 in).

With Preserve decimal places on unit conversion on, converted values keep the original’s number of decimal places, and whole numbers round to 4 places: 30 mm becomes 1.1811 in.

Tip: For drawings that give both units, such as 25.4 [1.00], choose which number Lens extracts in the Dimensions settings.
