Dimension Groups

Group the dimensions you measure together, by operation, feature or machine. For example, put the bores in one group and the outline in another. Apply tolerances, instruments or exports to a whole group at once.

Creating a Group

1. Open the dropdown at the top of the sidebar.
2. Choose Dimension Groups.
3. Click Create Group and type a Group Name.
4. Click Add Dimensions to Group (+) on the group, then double-click a dimension on the drawing, or drag a box around an area to add every dimension inside it.

Repeat for each group you need.

Checking a Group

Click Show Dimensions in Group (eye icon) on a group to highlight its dimensions on the drawing. They are also listed under the group in the sidebar.

Assigning One Dimension

To add or remove a single dimension, open it in the Dimension Editor and pick its groups on the Groups tab. A dimension can belong to more than one group.

Deleting a Group

Click Delete Group on the group. Its dimensions stay on the drawing.

Using Groups

• Tolerances: apply a standard or scanned tolerances to Grouped dimensions only.
• Inspection plans: export only chosen groups with the Grouped scope in the inspection plan export.
• Separate sheets: turn on Split by groups in Export Settings to put each group on its own sheet of a custom template.
