Custom Inspection Templates
Use your company’s own Excel inspection plan: upload it once, map each column to a field, and Lens fills it in on every export.
Uploading a Template
- In the sidebar, click Inspection Sheet, then open the Templates tab.
- Drop a sample
.xlsxfile on the upload area, or click it to choose one.
Lens detects the column headers and opens the mapping editor.
Mapping Columns
The editor shows your spreadsheet as a grid. Row colours show what each part is.
- Yellow: header rows, your column names.
- Blue: data rows, where Lens writes one dimension per row. Drag the blue handles to change which rows these are.
- White: everything else, left as it is. You can map these cells to title block fields such as part number or revision.
- Click a header cell.
- Choose what Lens fills in, for example Balloon Number, Dimension Type or Full Specification. Choose None to leave the column alone.
Changes save as you go. Click Done when the mapping is complete.
Managing Saved Templates
Your templates are listed under Saved templates on the Templates tab.
- Rename: click its name.
- Change the mapping: click its edit icon.
- Delete: click its delete icon.
To export with a template, choose it in the inspection plan export.
